About

The Bioinformatics Centre (BIC) at IIIT Allahabad has been set up with the support of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology to create a state-of-art facility for big data analytics of large-scale genomics and proteomics data. The Bioinformatics Centre is equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes an HPC Facility dedicated to quality training in big data analytics, development of various bioinformatics tools, molecular modeling, and MD-Simulation. The Centre focuses on organizing workshops, hands-on sessions, short-term courses, and webinars on various tools and techniques related to Bioinformatics with special emphasis on genomics and proteomics.

Focus Areas

Big data analysis

Deployment of hardware for big data analytics and workshops/Hands-On session/Short-term courses/ Online Webinars on Scripting Languages, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, and Scala

Genomics

Develop workflows and programs to analyze large-scale genomics data sets, including data quality assessment, comprehensive analysis, and interpreting results.

Proteomics

Find out new cancer therapeutics by network mining, Association studies, Systems modelling, Molecular modelling and MD-Simulation.
